Bausteine zwei 2025 (PDF-edition)
This is Bausteine zwei. The second book in the Bausteine series, produced by me Dr Billy Badger for my students at the University of Tasmania. In Bausteine eins, we concentrated on the structures of the present tense, making sure that we knew how to structure sentences. In Bausteine zwei, we move on to more advanced skills, while still retaining the focus on structure and understanding HOW the language works that was the important feature of Bausteine eins. We will learn how to:
- describe events in the past tense
- relate hypothetical events and express wishful thinking
- use different sorts of sentence 'moods'
- join sentences in more complex ways: subordinating conjunctions, zu+infinitive, and relative pronouns
- use the Genitive
- use the passive
- reflexive verbs
- give and follow directions
- and much much more
There's a new section in each of the twelve chapters, called Wörter im Rampenlicht in which we explore some of those tricky vocab-based aspects of the language; practice exercises; reading texts; cultural activities; and more of the grammar explanations that we focus on in our weekly YouTube videos too, of course.
I hope you enjoy the book as much as I enjoyed writing it.
Alles Gute und weiterhin viel Spaß mit der deutschen Sprache
